- Get Popcorn
- Make ready 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- Take 2 tbsp olive oil
- Get Caramel Sauce
- Make ready 150 g butter, salted
- Take 100 g raw sugar
- Get 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Take 1/2 tsp baking soda
Instructions to make Caramel Popcorn:
- Combine 2 tbsp olive oil with 2 kernels in pot.
- Cover pot and heat on medium high heat. Once the 2 kernels start popping, add rest of popcorn kernels.
- Cover and continue to cook popcorn. Tilt lid periodically to allow steam to escape.
- When popcorns are fully popped, transfer into a baking tray (lined with baking sheet) and set aside.
- Preheat oven at 120C fan.
- Melt butter in a saucepan on medium heat.
- Add sugar, and stir while bringing mixture to a boil.
- Continue to let it boil for 5 min without stirring.
- Add vanilla extract, and baking soda, and stir well. Remove from heat, and add to the popcorn.
- Fold caramel into popcorn to coat all popcorn.
- Bake in oven for 30-45mins. Stir every 15mins.
